When you have a problem find a new angle. Throughout my painting process I often go through times of fear and doubt. As I felt discouraged, I decided to grab a blank canvas and begin writing about my insecurities when it comes to my abilities. I felt that painting over a list of negativities could be very liberating, so I began adding onto the canvas and just creating not pressuring myself to make it perfect or even beautiful. then one day I was on Instagram and I saw this photo and I felt like it was the creativity I was trying to find within myself. I then messaged this very creative person and asked if I could use it as a reference photo. I chose to paint this on the canvas once filled with fear and doubt. I feel it is such an incredible example of how shifting our perspectives can give such a dynamic outcome. Transforming the painting from negativity to an image of a creative individual looking to the sky shows that a positive mindset is a choice and sometimes a change in perspective makes all the difference.
